Harrisburg Business Litigation Attorneys

Over the course of the last 35 years, the attorneys at Beckley & Madden have handled a broad range of business and commercial disputes. We strive to be the firm of choice for companies confronted by complex and critical litigation. We represent plaintiffs and defendants at both the trial and appellate levels before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, such as mediation and arbitration. We also often serve as local counsel to out-of-state companies. Our experience enables us to identify and pursue practical, effective and economical solutions to business problems. Frequently, our attorneys our called upon to assist clients in resolving a dispute before it becomes the subject of litigation.

Examples of the kinds of disputes we handle include:

  • Breach of contract actions
  • Collection actions
  • Business torts
  • Unfair Competition and fraud
  • Enforcement of covenants not to compete
  • Injunction proceedings
  • Declaratory judgment actions
  • Trademark and copyright infringement actions
  • Antitrust
  • Partnership dissolutions
  • Appellate Practice

Handling a case on appeal presents a unique set of challenges. Whether we served as trial counsel, are engaged after the trial has concluded, or are asked to represent amici curiae, because we practice regularly before the appellate courts, we can assist clients with all aspects of an appeal, including post-trial motions, case analysis and strategy, research regarding potential issues on appeal, briefing and oral argument. We can assist trial counsel by providing a fresh perspective on the case or insight concerning how an appellate court might view the matter, or we can assume principal responsibility for briefing and arguing the case before the appellate court.
